Industrial Engineering Portfolio

Jishnu Ghosh

Industrial Engineering graduate from Purdue University building enterprise workflows, production scheduling models, and operations research tools for manufacturing and supply chain decision support.

I focus on engineering problems where analytical systems need to work in real operating environments: global teams executing ERP testing, aircraft moving through final assembly and delivery, and optimization solvers handling edge cases. My work combines process design, automation, analytics, and clear interfaces that help people act on complex information.

About

Applied systems engineering for operations.

Purdue University B.S. in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Law & Society, May 2026. My academic focus is optimization and operations research, supported by professional experience in enterprise systems and research experience in human factors and data-driven sociology.

Most recently, I supported Molex's global ERP program as a Junior Project Manager through Actalent. I centralized smoke testing and User Acceptance Testing across four global teams, built an Excel-based orchestration system for thousands of test steps, and automated daily reporting with Power Query, Office Scripts, Power Automate, Outlook workflows, and Copilot.

My featured academic project is a Boeing 787 Final Goods Inventory scheduling and decision-support model delivered as a Purdue IE capstone. I led Python development and version control for a five-person team; our final presentation was delivered to senior managers in Boeing's 787 Program, and our poster placed third among Purdue IE capstone teams.

Featured Work

Selected systems in enterprise operations, scheduling, and analytics.

Production Scheduling ยท Capstone

Boeing 787 FGI Scheduling Model

Purdue IE capstone modeling Boeing 787 movement through Final Goods Inventory (FGI) and delivery operations. I led Python development and version control for a five-person team, and the project placed third among Purdue IE capstone teams. The model represents aircraft state, location occupancy, movement feasibility, labor-driven task completion, paint and inspection workflows, queue behavior, and delivery readiness under manufacturing constraints.

Python, Jupyter, modular package code, staged Excel input pipelines, move-time matrices, daily trace exports, labor allocation outputs, KPI tables, higher-rate scenario simulations through May 2027.

Enterprise Systems

ERP / SCM Dashboard

Role-based ERP/SCM decision-support application built for a Purdue Operations & Systems project. The PHP/MySQL/JavaScript stack routes senior managers and supply-chain managers to distinct dashboards, with JSON endpoints and Chart.js visualizations exposing shipment reliability, disruption exposure, supplier risk, and financial-health views over a normalized schema.

PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Chart.js, normalized schema design, SQL-backed filters, role-based access, KPI views.

Operations Research

LP Solver Implementations

From-scratch Python implementations of two-phase primal Simplex and primal-dual Interior Point Method solvers, including degeneracy handling and anti-cycling safeguards. Built as part of an optimization-for-hydrological-modeling technical project, the repository pairs reusable LP model builders with structured test cases, pytest coverage, and benchmark verification against Gurobi to validate objective values, infeasible/unbounded behavior, and commercial-solver agreement.

Python, NumPy, Jupyter, two-phase Simplex, primal-dual IPM, pytest, Gurobi verification, LP test harness.

Research Corpus

Milwaukee Lead Poisoning Corpus

Public-source document corpus on lead poisoning in Milwaukee, built in collaboration with Dr. Elizabeth Hoffman at Purdue University through the Margo Katherine Wilke Undergraduate Research Internship Program. The repository documents corpus construction, source organization, and the workbook structure used to support downstream longitudinal text analysis.

Public-source research protocol, source metadata, Excel workbook, Python text-analysis preparation, hypothesis testing, regression.

Production Scheduling Capstone · Purdue IE

Spring 2026

Led Python development and version control practices for a five-person team building a Boeing 787 production scheduling and decision-support model for post-final-assembly movement through Final Goods Inventory (FGI) and delivery operations. Modeled aircraft state, location occupancy, movement feasibility, labor-driven task completion, paint and inspection workflows, and queue behavior; integrated staged Excel inputs, move-time matrices, daily trace exports, labor allocation outputs, and KPI tables for higher-rate scenario planning. Placed third among Purdue IE capstone teams.

Research Assistant · Human Integration Lab, Purdue IE

2023 – 2024

Supported human-systems research on teamwork and situational awareness in VR construction scenarios using fNIRS, eye-tracking, and biometric sensors. Built Python and Excel scoring pipelines that converted raw experimental data into performance and situational-awareness measures across 160+ hours of sessions.

Margo Katherine Wilke Undergraduate Researcher · Purdue College of Liberal Arts

2023 – 2025

Built a longitudinal text dataset and reproducible Python analysis workflows for an interdisciplinary corpus on lead poisoning in Milwaukee, in collaboration with Dr. Elizabeth Hoffman. Translated research questions into statistical pipelines using hypothesis testing and regression.

Founder · Chi Psi Fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Tau (Purdue)

Service Chair, 2022 – 2023

Founding member of the Alpha Epsilon Tau chapter at Purdue. Served as Service Chair during the founding year, coordinating service programming and chapter operations through the early stand-up of the organization.
